This 1856 structure was built in the old town of Cimarron, behind the St. James, as part of the Maxwell Land Grant serving as their headquarters, later becoming the National Hotel for travelers on the Santa Fe Trail in the "untamed" West. This home has also been the residence of prominent land holders with some unsavory characters visiting along the way. Through the years it was known as Casa De Calores by the locals. It is now open as a bed and breakfast for guests wanting to relax and enjoy this beautiful area. |
